LOVING LATELY: AUGUST

I guess 'loving lately' are kind of becoming my favourites? Maybe, we'll see how long this sticks around for. ANYWAY. Today I am going to be talking to you about things I've been loving lately in the month of august (clearly). There's not as much lifestyle/tech favourites in this post, but don't you worry your dose of technology will be coming your way soon. August has whizzed past me, and I know it's cliche but I genuinely can't believe it's gone so fast! I was away in Edinburgh for the very beginning of August, then away on placement for 2 weeks and then at V fest. Busy busy. But loads of fun. So with all the travelling I've been doing I've pretty much been living out of a makeup bag, which as much as I hate doing, has meant I've found some real firm favourites.

If you're a loyal reader of my blog, you'll know I got HD Brows back in July, and have been keeping on top of my brow game since then. Helping the process along has been Benefit's Gimme Brow in Shade 3. This is a) such cute packaging, b) so easy and quick to apply and c) keeps them brows in place all day long! Some days I've been opting for using this alone if I'm just going for a simple natural makeup, or I'll use it to finish off my brows after using a brow pencil for extra precision and brows on point! I've actually for once been so in love and happy with my brows, and this product is helping me continue loving them. On to the face side of things, summer has meant bronzer and highlighter for me, and subsequently two favourites. An old favourite of mine than makes a reappearance every year is Sleek Contour Kit in Light, specifically the highlighting shade. This subtle peachy highlighter is perfect for a nice glow, without being too blinding. This summer I've been enjoying applying it even more since buying the Real Techniques Fan Brush. Never has powder highlight application been so easy! This distributes the product so evenly and you can be really precise with where you want your glow to go.

Another Benefit product that I've been using and loving is Benefit's Hoola Bronzer. Now I'm not going to lie, this was a bit of an in-the-moment purchase, but boy I'm glad I did. Again with Benefit's packaging, the little box is so appealing to me (and looks hella cute in my clear muji drawers). I've been using this as a contour shade, as I actually managed to get a slight tan this year *go me*, so this shade is perfect for adding that sculpted cheekbone into my not so sculpted face. At £23.50 for 8g, it's  certainly on the dearer side, however I've been using it sparingly for special occasions or when I'm just going for a more made-up makeup look. As we've actually had some decent warm weather in the UK this summer, I've been worshipping my MAC Fix+ for spraying my face with a cool refreshing mist, as well as helping my makeup last through the sweltering (read sweaty) days. It's also great at removing that powdered look and making you look more dewy, something I'm all for.

Finally I've been religiously using the Avon Skin So Soft Moisturising Gel. I'm usually someone who flits between different body lotions regularly, but this has been my one go to for the whole of August. The reason it's become such a staple is down to the light gel formula/consistency, meaning you don't have to walk around feeling all sticky and horrible as it just sinks right in. The scent is fresh and light, not awkward clashes of smells after spraying on other products e.g perfume. I'm not sure how much this is priced at as I gained it from my Grandmas box of unwanted beauty products (I do enjoy having a good rummage in there when I visit!). So that's what I've been using and loving, are there any products you could recommend or that have stood out to you recently? Let me know!
