10 THINGS I AM & 10 THINGS I WANT TO BE

When it comes to my personal life I'm a big fan of reflection. I'm one of those people who strives to constantly do/be better, whether this involves learning a new skill or acquiring a new trait. But not all reflection has to be bad. There are many times in my life where I've looked back and been proud of what I've achieved, such as when I became Head Girl at my sixth form. But reflection also allows us to think about the things we didn't do so well on, or mistakes we have made, taking from them experiences which we know we don't want to repeat again. People so often struggle to say positive things about themselves. I am in no way at all 100% confident in who I am, but that doesn't mean I can't say things I do like about myself. Below is a list of 10 things I can say about myself with a smile on my face:

10 things I am:
- A daughter
- A cousin
- A friend
- A blogger
- A student
- A ukulele player
- A showchoir singer
- Dedicated
- Enthusiastic
- Short

But I am still young and there are many things I'd like to achieve in my life. Goals allow me to be constantly pushing myself harder, it's how I function best. When the pressure builds up it drives me to do the best I possibly can, I guess it comes down to that fight or flight instinct. Many people criticise others for saying the things they want to be rather than what they are, yet in my opinion the balance lies in the middle. Being able to say the things you want to be allows you to set goals and work towards them. Obviously there are some things in my list that I don't want to become just yet, but this doesn't mean that I can't still hold them as a goal of mine for the future.

10 things I want to be:
- A mother
- An aunt
- A lifelong friend
- Wiser
- Calmer
- Fitter
- More reflective
- Braver
- More knowledgable
- Always striving for better

I hope you enjoyed this slightly different (and probably deeper) post from me today! Let me know if you have any goals or things you want to achieve in your life, and also things you are that you like about yourself!
