WHAT'S ON MY FACE #11

A while back I reviewed the KIKO Eyeshadow stick in 37 which I said I'd feature in a What's On My Face post soon. Well today is that day. As the days get warmers I get more inspired to try something different day-to-day from my typical neutral eyes and coral lips. Here's what I'm sporting on my face today.

I always start with my eyes then move onto my face, so the first step for me is to prime my eyes with my trusty Urban Decay Primer Potion. This will help the eyeshadow stick stay on my lids all day and will also prevent it creasing. Next I took some of MAC's Eyeshadow in Omega through my crease to help make the eyeshadow I'd be putting on next blend out easier and create a softer look to the eye. Then comes my new love in the form of the KIKO Long Lasting Stick in 37. This is a colour that's out of my comfort zone, but one I'm beginning to feel more confident in wearing. It's a lovely red toned brown colour which dotted onto the eye and then blended out with my fingers creates a warm brown glow helping to bring out the blue in my eyes. I also like to take a thin line of this across the lash line to help define and extenuate my lashes. Some more of Mac's Omega Eyeshadow is used through my brows to fill in any sparse areas, followed by lashings of the Max Factor False Lash Effect Mascara. (Is it time I tried a new mascara, probably yes!!) To finish off the eyes I used the Rimmel Scandaleyes Kohl Kajal in Nude on the waterline to cancel out any redness and make sure the main focus was the upper eyelids.

For once I strayed from my Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation and opted for the Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation in 110 Ivory. This is a slightly more satin finish which I think goes really nicely with the bolder eye. Easy to blend and lasts all day I'll definitely be opting for this foundation more often nowadays. I did pop of tiny bit of Soap and Glory's One Heck Of A Blot powder through my T-zone just to make sure that they'd be no oily mishaps during the day. As it's summer I've started to make use of the bronzers in my collection again, namely The Body Shop Honey Bronzer in 01. This bronzer is a godsend for pale girls like me, as it's not too red toned so helps to add that natural glow as well as fake those non existent cheek bones to your hearts content. I know a lot of my friends use this and love it as well, and they're no where near as pasty as me. Finally to complete the look I pulled out a lipstick that I don't wear half as much as a should, the Collection Deluxe Lipstick in Talulah. This is a gorgeous pinky-coral colour that I think goes beautifully with the colour of the eyes. I'll be making a conscious effort to carry this lipstick around with me in the coming months.

What have you been wearing on your face recently?
