A (Few Too Many) Lip Products Haul

Top row: Maybelline Gloss in Glorious Grapefruit, Revlon Matte Balm in Elusive, Maybelline Elixir in Alluring Coral
Bottom row: Revlon Moisture Stain in Cannes Crush, Maybelline Elixir in Fuchsia Flouis, Revlon Moisture Stain in New York Scene

So I got my braces off the other day and I was super excited about wearing bright lips. Boots didn't help with offering 3 for 2 on most brands, and I already knew I wanted to pick up some of the new lip editions to the drugstore, in particular the Revlon Moisture Stains and the Maybelline Colour Elixirs which I've been craving for since Estee swatched them on her blog yonks ago.

The Maybelline Colour Sensational Shine Gloss in Glorious Grapefruit made it's way into my basket as I've seen Anna from ViviannaDoesMakeup rave about them before, and I think I'm still denying the fact that summer is on its way out. I love the sweet scent of this as well as it being  a super wearable colour. Next up I had a wander over to my favourite brands stand at the moment, Revlon, to finally pick up one of the Revlon Matte Balm Stains in Elusive as I adore the original formula and every time my friend Sarah rocks one I subconsciously add it to my mental wishlist. Elusive is a pretty pink colour, which you will see featured in a What's On My Face sometime soon!

Onto the gloss/stain hybrids I picked up the Revlon Moisture Stains in Cannes Crush and New York Scene. Cannes Crush is an orangey pink colour and New York Scene is a gorgeous red with berry tones. I've not worn these out yet so not had a chance to test their longevity but I will get back to you on that one! However, I must say from what I've tried so far I prefer the application and feel of the Maybelline Elixirs on the lips. I find they apply more smoothly and don't feel as tacky, the colours that made their way home with me were Alluring Coral and Fuchsia Flouris

I know this may seem like a lot of lip products but I was feeling uninspired with my stash at home and was also very excited to show off my newly brace-less pearly whites with a lovely lip colour.

Have you tried any of these?

  5. These look so beautiful on your lips! I really like Cannes Crush, but lipglosses and shiny lip products aren't my thing. It just feels too sticky for me.

& yay! no more braces! I remember getting mine off and just eating whatever I wanted since I didn't have to worry about the wires and stuff anymore.

  7. Gorgeous lip swatches! I have one of the Maybelline Elixirs and adore the feeling of it on my lips. Sadly though, they don't stick the coral shade over here, which suuuucks because it looks so gorgeous on you! Very interested to read your thoughts on the Revlon stains!
