Bloggers Around The World - UK

Another Sunday, another blogger from a different part of the world. This time it's Jessica who blogs over at Jessica Beautician. I've loved Jessica's blog and youtube for a long time and you'll always find me lusting after whatever she talks about! Here are her answers to my questions;

1. Have you always been interested in makeup?

Yes, ever since I can remember - there's a photo of me when I was around 3 years old with makeup scrawled all over my face, I think it must have gone from there ;-)

2. What does being a beauty therapist entail?

A lot of people think you just sit chatting and painting nails all day, but it's nothing like that. Beauty therapy is physically hard work, massage for example can take up so much of your energy, I used to do 5-6 a day! It's also quite mentally tiring, we got told at college that beauticians double-up as councillors as clients come to you with their personal problems - true say!

3. Are there any tips you would give people who are thinking of starting up their own beauty business?

Gain as much experience in salons as you can, you'll need it for when you go it alone! Also treat your clients how you'd wish to be treated, at the end of the day if they trust you and like you as a therapist it's their decision and if they want to follow you when you start up your own business then they will.

4. Which five beauty products could you not live without?

Ooo-er, a toughie! Here goes... Burt's Bees Lip Balm, Omorovicza Queen of Hungary Mist, Perricone MD Moisturiser, NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer, Anastasia Brow Wiz. Phewww.

5. What inspired you to create your blog and start a youtube channel? Which came first?

I think one day I was Googling DIY beauty treatments, stumbled across Kandee Johnson's videos and plucked up the courage to have a go myself, seeing as beauty is always on the brain! My blog came first though and a few posts later, my YouTube videos followed.

6. Is there anyone who you take makeup inspiration from?

I've got to say Auntie Lisa Eldridge, wouldn't we all?! Not only is her own makeup is always flawless, her work is extremely inspiring too. So much so, I walked past her down a quiet street in London and just stopped to stare, I couldn't even get any words out of my mouth to say hello. Biggest. Regret. Ever.

7. When did you start building up a proper skincare routine? Any advice for those starting to venture into the world of skincare?

I'd say it was when I finished college at 18 years old and started working in salons with big brand names that I really got a taste for, my skincare stash has continued to expand and *looks in direction of collection* is now overflowing. Oops.

8. What are your goals and dreams for the next 10 years?

Ah I'm rubbish at thinking into the future, but I'd like to think I'd still be at it on my blog, even if not my YouTube videos. I think my main dream in my personal life is to get married and settle down with lots of little Jessica's running around :)

Head over to Jessica's blog to be sucked into buying every product she talks about just like I am. Next Sunday I'm heading across to the other side of the world so make sure you tune in and I'd love to hear your thoughts on the series so far using the hashtag #BATW on twitter!
