La Roche-Posay Exfoliating Toner Review

Hello there, long time no speak! If you follow me on twitter (@beautybabbles) you'll know I've been doing A levels which have kind-of taken over my life. But now I'm back and going to talk to you about a new exfoliating toner that I've been using. Very sadly my Clarins Gentle Exfoliating Toner ran out and I went without for a couple of weeks which made my skin feel clogged up. I read a review on Beauty Atheistic about this toner, which being half the price of the Clarins one attracted my attention.

The La Roche-Posay Effaclar Astringent Micro-Exfoliating Toner (long enough name?!) gives more of a tingly sensation when applied to the skin, it is definitely less gentle than the Clarins alternative. This makes me skin feel very smooth and hasn't broken me out at all. I use this every evening post-cleanse, pre-serum on a cotton pad all over the face. Personally I find that exfoliating toners really help my skin stay clear, smooth and soft although I do know some who prefer the traditional manual beaded exfoliators. For £11.00 this is a great drugstore alternative and it's great to see the drugstore bringing out alternatives to the more expensive exfoliating toners which have become a staple in my skincare routine now.

Have you joined the exfoliating toner hype?

  4. Oh wow, I had no idea LRP did an exfoliating toner! Definitely want to check this out, don't know if they sell it where I live though. I have the Clarins toner as well and still like three quarters of the bottle left so I have time before I need to replace it! :)

  7. Yeah definitely, the Clarins one is much less of a gentle formula - and actually smells a bit nicer! x
