An Ode to Lip Butters

When the Revlon Lip Butters first came out it took me while to buy my first one, but once I did I knew the addict had begun. The first lip butter I owned was Peach Parfait, the most lovely darker peach colour that I love wearing all year round. Next I picked up Juicy Papaya when they came out as what I thought was a limited edition collection but they're still in boots now so I don't know what that was about. Juicy Papaya has been well loved, it has even had to go into the fridge as it melted in my bag after being carried about so much. This shade is a perfect coral which is always one of my main lip choices in the summer months. Estee from essiebutton, who is a massive enabler for me, made me go out and buy Candy Apple, the most perfect easy to wear casual red. The main thing I love about the lip butters is they're so easy to apply and maintain, as well as not being at all drying.

Berry Smoothie was an impulse buy, I wanted an light berry lip that added a bit of colour but nothing too in your face and obviously the lip butters fulfil that gap again! I've worn Berry Smoothie so much over the last couple of months, it's by fair one of my favourite fall/autumn colours. And finally the latest editions to my ever growing collection were Sweet Tart and Macaroon. I've been eyeing up Sweet Tart for a while as it's such a pretty pink that is nothing like I have in my stash already. Macaroon is arguably very similar to Berry Smoothie, but slightly more red toned than pinker toned.

In summary I love the lip butters because they're easy to apply, have an amazing shade range, are moisturising on the lips and the packaging is also a beauty. These need to be in everyone's lip product collection!

Have you tried any lip butters?

  5. I have never purchased any of the revlon lip butters before - just because I know I usually only end up using my higher end lip products. Macaroon, though, just looks so pretty! I might not be able to resist next time I am in walgreens!

I love the revlon lip butters they apply so effortlessly. The lasting power isn't that great for me but they are moisturizing so I don't mind reapplying them. Californiacitizen.blogspot.com
