Revlon Quick Dry Base Coat

Revlon Quick Dry Base Coat (£6.19 Boots

After finishing my beloved Save The Nail Base Coat I decided to purchase this after hearing Amarixe talk about it. In the nails this goes on clear, and creates the perfect base for any nail colour.

In terms of extending the wear of a nail polish, I definitley think it helps, but then again, my nail polish doesn't really chip anyway! I love the brush on this, and the frosted glass packaging looks beautiful!

What base coat do you use?

Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette

Urban Decay Naked Palette (Debenhams £36
Swatches L-R: Foxy, Half Baked, Bootycall, Chopper, Tease, Snakebite, Suspect, Pistol, Verve, YDK, Busted and Blackout

Everyone, and their mother, and their cat (!?) has blogged about this. But today I am bringing you my review. Well let's just start off by saying for months and months I read review after review, trying to choose which I would rather have, the original Naked Palette, or the second edition. In the end, after talking to the sales assistant, I decided to go for Naked 2.

You know the drill, this palette comes with 12 neutral eyeshadow shades with different formulas, matte, shimmer and glitter. I actually thought I would prefer the packaging on the original Naked Palette but I actually really like the fact this shuts tightly so there's no need to worry about accidents during travel!

I reach for this daily, with my go-to look being Bootycall all over the lid, Tease in the crease and Snakebite in the outer-v. Recently I've been experimenting with Half Baked which is such a beautiful colour and it really brings out my blue eyes!

Nothing bad to say, no surprise really! If you love your neutrals and want a range of finished, this is the palette for you!

Rimmel Soft Coral Lipstick

Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick in Soft Coral (Boots £6.29)

I've had this beautiful lipstick for quite a while now. A couple of summers ago I went into Boots on the look for the perfect summer coral to add to my collection; this one landed itself in my shopping basket after a very intensive swatching session!

The Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipsticks are lovely as they are pigmented and smooth but not at all drying. Soft Coral does contain some shimmer, but if anything I find it makes me look more glowy and healthy. The wear on this is about 4-5 hours, after which time you are often left with the shimmer just on your lips. I love this lipstick as the coral brings out my blue eyes and its just a summer staple for me!

What's On My Face #3

Sometimes I like to keep the eyes super simple and focus on the lips instead. Today I decided to do just that.

I started off by moisturising and then applying my favourite L'oreal True Match Foundation with my fingers. Once I'd blended it all in I then took my Real Techniques Buffing Brush to make sure the foundation sunk into my skin and looked very natural. For my eyes I kept it really simple, curling my lashes and applying plenty of Rimmel Lash Accelerator Endless* (which is great for lots of length) and popping Wet'n'Wild's Walking on Eggshells brow bone shade in my tearduct area, which is a must even for barely any makeup days!

On the cheeks I applied the amazing NARS Orgasm Blush, and tried to contour with Laguna Bronzer, but not very sucessfully! I love Orgasm Blush as it gives a really healthy natural looking flush to the cheeks without being overly shimmery. Finally after a swipe of lip balm I applied my Collection 2000 Creme Puff in Fairy Cake. This is the most gorgeous pinky coral shade that compliments the blush perfectly.

What's your go-to blush?

Batiste Cherry Dry Shampoo

Batiste Dry Shampoo (Boots £2.99

I bought this the other week for a couple of reasons. A. I like using dry shampoo to get rid of some of the greasy feeling of 2/3 day old hair and B. I like using this on a daily basis to give my roots some volume.

With my hair being thick and long it often lacks volume. This dry shampoo not only smells amazing but gives my hair that extra volume boost it needs. This is such an easy product to use, simply position it 30cm away from your hair and spray where required, rub in with your fingers and style! I love the huge range of scents and patterns batiste have of this, and I would definitely repurchase this once I'm finished.

Garnier Intensive 7 Body Lotion

Something I don't usually talk about is body lotions. I bought this garnier body lotion a while ago on a whim. It's a really nice body lotion, I like using it in summer as it is lightweight and sinks in quickly meaning no sticky legs! I don't quite agree with the whole 7 days moisture, but is does have a lovely scent and is quite cheap which is a bonus.

Have you tried any of the garnier lotions?

NARS Orgasm/Laguna Duo

NARS Orgasm/Laguna Duo (NARS £30)

Orgasm/Laguna appear to me to be the most talked about NARS products, aside from their limited edition collections. I was lucky enough to win this in a giveaway that the lovely Kaittdee did on her youtube channel (link) some other goodies.

First of all let me say that Orgasm is a beautiful blush! I remember swatching this on my hand when I noticed my auntie owned it and falling in love. Orgasm is described as a 'peachy pink with golden shimmer', that is exactly what it is. The great thing about this blush is it's very natural looking but gives you the most healthy glow. Although I don't wear blush unless I'm wearing foundation, this is the most perfect blush for that lit-from-within look.

Laguna is a beautiful bronzer too, and I tried to show this in my face swatches, the only problem being is that I am not a pro at contouring! Laguna is described as a 'diffused brown powder with golden shimmer', while this is true, don't let the fact it says shimmer put you off. Laguna is a lovely bronzer that doesn't make your face look muddy or strange, it's very natural and easy to work with.

I love this duo, and I am so thankful to have it in my beauty collection!

My Favourite Makeup Brushes

Buffing Brush, Angled Brush, Pencil Brush, Large Fluff Brush and Blending Brush

Although I have many brushes, there are ones that I use more often than others. I don't wear foundation on an everyday basis, but when I do, after using either my fingers or beauty blender I run my Real Techniques Buffing Brush (from the Core Collection) over my skin to blend my foundation in. This brush is super dooper soft and amazing value for money! When I do apply foundation I then apply blush using my Sigma F40 Large Angled Contour Brush. This picks up the right amount of product and is the perfect size for the apples of my cheeks!

I love using my Sigma E30 Pencil Brush to apply my inner corner highlight as it places the product exactly where I want it and is small enough to not poke you in the eye! My Sigma E50 Large Fluff is my one and only browbone highlighter brush, more often than not I use this with MAC's Brule, which is my everyday highlight colour. Finally, I adore my NO7 Eyeshadow Blend and Contour Brush to blend, apply a crease colour or apply a wash all over the lids. I think this is similar to a MAC 217, but at a much more affordable price, especially when the NO7 vouchers are around!

What's On My Face #2

Another WOMF today, I really enjoy reading/writing these. Today I went for a simple but spring like look to try and inject some colour into the UK!

Moistuise. I don't wear foundation on an everyday basis, hence why I'm not wearing it today. I started off by priming my eyelids with Rimmel Eyelid Primer, I then used my Naked 2 Palette with Virgin for the on the inner half of my eye and Hustle on the outer half, very simple! No eyeliner, just curl the lashes and apply Rimmel Lash Accelerator Mascara. I always put a flesh coloured eyeliner in the waterline and line the tightline with a black eyeliner to make the lashes look fuller.

Finally I applied one of my favourite lipsticks at the moment, Revlon Lip Butter in Candy Apple. I love this as it's such an easy way to add a pop of colour to your makeup.

Barry M Prickley Pear Gelly Polish

Barry M Gelly Shine Polish in Prickley Pear (£3.99 Boots
Left without top coat, Right with top coat

I've seen a lot of talk about these on the bloggershpere lately, so when I was last in Boots I decided to pick one of Barry M's latest nail polishes. Prickley pear is a slightly darker than pastel purple which is a must have colour for spring. I've always been a fan of Barry M and this actually exceeded my expectations! The photos above are with two coats which are fully opaque, as you can tell even without a top coat these polishes are super shiny (as the name suggests!). At £3.99 per pop I don't think you can go wrong with these. I'll definitely be picking more of these up, I have my eye on Lycee and Dragon Fruit.

These polishes are cheap, perfect application and barely chip at all.

Are Barry M a brand you love?

Collection 2000 Creme Puffs

Collection 2000 Creme Puffs (£2.99 Boots)

Sorry for the picture heavy post but I wanted to do these beauties justice! I cannot remember where or who I first heard mention these, but I knew I had to pick up Fairy Cake as soon as I could.

Collection 2000 Creme Puffs are a creamy lipstick/lipstain that come in colour co-ordinated packaging with a doe foot applicator. These smell divine, sweet and quite vanilla-ry. My favourite out of the two is Fairy Cake, a; because the name is so cute and b; because it is the perfect spring/summer colour. These dry to a matte formula so I recommend using a lip balm before hand, but I don't find them uncomfortable on the lips. Powder Puff is not as well used by me as I don't tend to reach for that sort of nude, but it does look amazing paired with a smokey eye.

These are kind of similar to the Rimmel Apocalips, without the glossy finish. Fairy Cake especially stains your lips for a luscious coral colour nearly all day.

Have you tried any of these?

Revlon Lip Butter in Candy Apple

Revlon Lip Butter in Candy Apple (Boots £7.99)

As one of my March Favourites I thought this product was well worthy of a blog post. This was an influenced buy from Estee (essiebutton) as she is a similar skin colour as me, and it looked so fabulous on her. I picked this up on a whim, but oh my I love it so much.

The Revlon Lip Butters are a balmy lipstick that stays on the lips for about 3-4 hours before re-application. I actually find that Candy Apple stains the lips so it doesn't look bad when it starts wearing off. Sometimes red lips can look high maitneance, but this one is easy to wear and is great to brighten up these dull UK days!
