Essie Apricot Cuticle Oil Review

Essie Apricot Cuticle Oil

I bought this in The Factory Shop for £3 a while ago, so I'm reviewing it for you today. First of all, I cannot deny, the smell is amazing! This oil is very light and not overly moisturising but I do find this works as a quick fix. I love putting this on and rubbing it in on an evening as it is relaxing and makes my nails look healthy and happy! (?)

This oil does not provide long term effects unless you use it on a daily basis, although it is a lovely treat if you're having a pamper evening.

Do you look after your cuticles?

Maybelline Chocolate Chic Eyeshadow

Maybelline Chocolate Chic Eyeshadow (£4.09 Boots)

Another product today I can't believe I haven't blogged about. I've had this eyeshadow from nearly the beginning of my makeup days. This was just a random buy in boots one day, and boy am I glad I got it!

This is a matte, chocolate brown colour, which is the most perfect colour for the outer-v. It's not dark enough to look scary, but it's natural enough to define. This product is extremely pigmented, and really soft, great quality for a drugstore eyeshadow. I'm sure there's MAC dupes but who needs an eyeshadow for £10 when you can get this for £4.09.

I love this, and I take it whenever I go away, even if it's for a night, or a week.

Have you tried any Maybelline eyeshadows?

Wet n Wild Walking on Eggshells Trio

Wet n Wild Walking on Eggshells Trio

I cannot believe I have not blogged about this palette before! I picked this up when I was in Ohio, Summer 2012, in Meijer. I had heard lots and lots on youtube about it, so it was one of my main aims to purchase this while I was over there.

Walking on Eggshells contains three highly pigmented shadows, labelled browbone, crease and eyelid, but there is no need to just use them wear it states by any means! I love all three shades. I mainly use the browbone colour all over my lid, or in the inner tear duct to highlight. I love using the crease colour to define my outer v, and the eyelid colour (which is similar to Naked Lunch from MAC) is a lovely colour for summer.

These eyeshadows are pigmented, cheap, and don't have any fall out. They wear well, and I cannot imagine not owning this trio. If you live in the states and you don't have this already, I highly recommend it!

Do you own it?

My Favourite Lip Care Products

Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub, EOS Strawberry Sorbet Lip Ball, Biotherm Rose Lip Balm SPF 8 (mini), and Blistex Relief Cream.

There's no denying it, I love lip products. I like to make sure that my lips are soft and not cracked, so today I'm going to show you some of the products that help me.

If I ever have any dry patches on my lips then my Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub is perfect. It smells amazing and is really tasty too! I often tend to scrub my lips at night and then apply Blistex Relief Cream. I pinched this from my dad a while ago and have used it every night since. It is very strong and has a minty smell to it, but in the morning you are left with super soft lips.

I use my EOS lip ball's all the time. The one shown in the photo is the strawberry sorbet flavour, they're great for on the go and are really different to your normal lip balm. Some have said they don't find this overly hydrating, but they do smooth and soften your lips. Finally my Auntie gave me this Biotherm Rose Lip Balm when I was in America. It smells divine, and it has a shiny effect so looks a lip like lip gloss but without the colour. It's not sticky and sinks into your lips leaving them feeling and smelling great!

Do you have any lip products that you love?

Sure Cotton Deodorant Review

Sure Cotton Deodorant (Boots £2.60)

This is my third tube? of this, so I thought it was about time I blogged about it! A while ago I was browsing the deodorant isles as I'd finished my spray deodorant and realising how damaging it is for the environment told myself it was time to try something new.

This caught my eye as I love the Sure Cotton scent, very fresh and clean smelling. This is a creamy waxy consistency that is really moisturising and doesn't gas you out (until sprays!). I do like this deodorant, obviously since I've repurchased this three times! The only thing I don't like is if you put clothes on straight away it can leave a white mark under your arms.

With regards to sweating, I'm not a huge sweater, so I can't really comment, but it keeps me felling fresh and clean throughout the day.

What's your favourite deodorant?

NOTD Essie Mint Candy Apple

Essie Mint Candy Apple (Boots £7.99

Ever since the festivities ended for christmas/new year, I have been craving some sun, hotter weather and bright colours. The other day I just couldn't wait any longer so popped on one of my favourite summer nail polishes, and one thats well spoken about in the beauty world, Essie's Mint Candy Apple. When I ordered this (Boots weren't selling Essie at the time) I didn't really know what colour to expect as some pictures showed the colour as more sea-foam green.

Mint Candy Apple is a beautiful light/bright baby/turquoise blue. I feel like that is the best way to describe it! Whenever I have this on I always get lots of questions/compliments about it, and it just makes me feel like summer is here, even if it's not! The application is ok, two coats and its opaque, however I think my bottle has a thinner brush compared to the new ones that are found in the Essie polishes from Boots.

What's your favourite spring/summer colour?

Rimmel Apocalips in Celestial

Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquer in Celestial (Boots £5.99

I know every man and his dog has blogged about these, but hey, it's my blog! Today I'm going to talk about the one and only Rimmel Apocalips that have taken the beauty community by storm. My grandma actually bought this for me when we were out shopping in February which I am very grateful for.

Celestial is the most neutral pink out of the collection, Luna is slightly lighter and more coral but I think Celestial can be pulled off by anyone! Its a lovely pink fresh colour that brightens up your complexion, the second picture above is the most accurate picture of the colour. I find these stay on for about 4-5hours depending on whether you eat or not, they do lose their shine after that time but become a gorgeous, not uncomfortable, matte lip colour which looks so cute.

I'll probably wear this more in the summer, but I have been reaching for it quite a lot recently, which says something!

Have you tried any of the Apocalips?

The Body Shop Strawberry Body Butter

The Body Shop Strawberry Body Butter (Website £13

One of my best friends Sarah got this for my 16th birthday last year, and my first reaction was 'it smells soooo good!', which it does. I use this religiously every night before I go to bed on my legs and my arms. The Body Shop Body Butters are really thick in constancy, a bit thinner than butter, but because it is very thick this works perfectly in the winter/colder months. Also, my legs usually don't react well to some body lotions (don't ask me why!) but this doesn't bring up any reaction at all, just smooth legs. Not only does it moisturise well, but I find that it stops the hairs on my legs growing back as quickly, which is always a bonus.

In the summer I will probably switch this up for a lighter moisturiser, as this does take a little longer to sink in than normal body lotions (hence why I apply it at night), although I do love applying this the night before a big day (e.g party/meal out) just because it makes me feel more glamourous when I have super smooth legs *flicks hair like a model*. At £13 it may sound a bit steep but considering I've had this for over six months and I've still got about half left I don't think I'll have any doubts about going out and buying a new one once this is empty!

Mothers Day Gift Ideas #4

Today is the final post in my 'Mothers Day Gift Ideas' series. I hope you have enjoyed them all, but before I say goodbye to this topic for the year I have one more idea I want to share with you.

If your mum is particularly into crafts/sewing then she may appreciated an assortment of goodies. I got the fabrics from a local fabric shop, the thread you can get from Hobby craft/haberdasheries and the bows, button, and ribbon I have just acquired somehow. Just wrapping these up/putting them in a pretty box, although its a simple idea, will I'm sure by very much appreciated.

I really hope you've enjoyed this mini series and that you've been inspired in some way!

Mothers Day Gift Ideas #3

Joules Notebook

Another day, another mothers day gift idea! Today's idea is giving you mum a little notebook for them to use but also personalising it.

My mum loves notebooks, she's always buying new ones/asking me if I have any spare. Getting a sweet little notebook such as this one from Joules and then writing on the first page/placing some photos in between the pages adds a personal touch that your mum can treasure forever. I also love how this notebook has a tiny rabbit in the corner of each page and has a flap at the back to keep little notes/pieces of paper.

Gift idea #2

I'll be keeping this cute notebook, but the idea is still there!

Mothers Day Gift Ideas #2

Emma Bridgewater tin, EOS Hand Cream, Boots Lipsalve, Accessorize earrings and The Body Shop Vanilla Spice Body Butter

Hi guys, today I'm doing the second edition in my 'Mothers Day Gift Ideas' series. This is something you can throw together quickly and you can give your mum gifts she will actually use rather than yesterdays.

I got this Emma Bridgewater tin ages ago in a little farm shop near where I live, and I have never found a use for it, so when I was coming up with ideas for mothers day I thought this would be really sweet and would show how much effort you have gone to. You don't have to put the same things that I have in, but you can't really go wrong with beauty products/jewellery (in my opinion!). You could also fill the tin with photos/handwritten notes of great memories.

Gift Idea #1

Hope you enjoyed this post, stay tuned for the next idea tomorrow!

Mothers Day Gift Ideas #1

Momiji Dolls (Momiji Website £12.95

Over the next four days I thought I would share some slightly different posts with you. As it's mothers day coming up (10.03.2013) I thought I would give you some inspiration if you're stuck for ideas. Day one is simple, quick and not too expensive.

'Momiji is inspired by friendship and little kindnesses. It' about filling life with memories and messages'

Momiji dolls are little dolls that are often sold in random different shops. They're a mini ornament, but also have a personal touch to them. Each doll is named something different from 'Birthday Girl' to 'Silly Billy' and with each doll comes a little piece of paper in a slit at the bottom which can be personalised with your own message.

These can sometimes by found on ebay/amazon cheaper, so searching around is possible. I haven't seen one called mother, but there are certainly ones called 'Big Sister' etc!

Hope this was helpful, for reference I have 'Kitty' and 'Luca'.
